MA-Sen: Kerry Gives $1 Million to the DSCC

From The Hill:

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) has made a $1 million contribution from his campaign to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), he told supporters in an e-mail Tuesday.

Kerry said the current financial crisis shows how important it is for Democrats to get to 60 seats.

“It’s time to push even harder to completely change Washington,” Kerry wrote in an e-mail. “So I have an announcement: I just gave a million dollars from my campaign to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee to try to make this happen.”

Very cool. The NRSC has been gaining back a bit of ground in the money chase lately, so a donation like this one means a lot in this final month.

Well done, Senator.

  1. but by my count he STILL hasn’t spent all the money from his lousy Prez race.

Here’s hoping Obama has learned from his mistake, and goes into DEBT to beat the Republicans this time around (campaign debt, not personal debt)

  2. Are those serving in Congress allowed to transfer unlimited funds from their own campaigns to national party committees? (I know that federal law limits personal contributions to $28,500 per year per national party committee, with a two-year limit of $65,500 to all national party committees.)

  3. kudos to my senator for doing this   that 1 mill can go a long way.

Now lets get some of these other senators on the horn and get them to do the same thing.  I’m sure there are several more out there that can give 1 mil.

  4. I’d say Kerry should have given at least 2-3 million. He’s running in a shoo in race against a no name GOP candidate this cycle. I don’t think he’d be using campaign funds to finance a windsurfing vacation.
